I've been unhappy with my body for some time now and it's time to get healthy again.  It will be extra challenging because of a crazy work schedule for the next 2 months.  I'm hoping that work and exercise will not be mutually exclusive and that exercising will give me extra energy and clarity at my job.  That means, though, that I can't push myself too hard or take too much time with my workouts.  I will need to be efficient and moderate.  Also, if I want to have any chance of losing weight I will need to focus on the food side of the equation.  I'm even considering a....diet (shudder).

I got new running shoes for my Birthday/Christmas (it all kind of runs together...get it?) And I think I'm close to finally getting my custom orthotics worked out--a process that has literally taken years.  There's also no IT band tendonitis or lateral compartment syndrome in my right knee at the moment, so all in all this is a pretty good time to take another stab at running.  Hopefully I've learned something from all my persistent injuries about being patient and slowing working up to it.  Cross-training, core-strength training, and stretching are particularly important.  I wish I was one of those people that could just hit the road.  Unfortunately, I am not, and I need to learn to live with that fact.

I still don't have an exercise plan worked out, but hopefully I can put something together in the next couple of days.  I'll post more as it starts to come together.  Also, stay tuned for some embarrassing fat pictures!  I figure the more public shame the better!
